Stevenson of “insincere double talk" of the subject of civil rights and senate filibusters; The Massachusetts senator threw the challenge at a press conference shortly after he discussed the matter with Dwight D. Eisenhower Republican jresidential nominee, at breakfast. Stevenson in two New York speeches Thursday night pledged thht if elected he would use the power of hjs Office to help greak senate filibusters which have traditionally been used against civil rights legislation. At the same time, Stevenson paid high tribute to his vice presidential running mate, Sen. John J. Sparkman of Alabama.
