Fewer Polio Cases Than During 1949 - 50 Percent Lower Than In Epidemic INDIANAPOLIS, UP —lnfantile paralysis has struck nearly 50 per cfent fewer Hoosiers so far this year than in 1949 when polio reached epidemic proportions, the Indiana state board of health said today. Through last Saturday, the board listed 323 cases, 75 more than at the end of the previous week. In 1949 at this stage there were 626, cases? in 1950, 136, and last year, 135.
