School Days To Commence Here InSepfember Vacation Days Are Nearing End; Book Lists Published It won’t be long now until the old school bell Will be ringing. The Decatur; public schools open Wednesday, September 3. The Adams county schools open Thursday,, August 28. The St. Joseph Catholic grade school and Decatur Catholic high school opens Wednesday, Sept. 3, with classes starting the following day. ■ Book lists for the county schools are published in today’s edition of the’ Daily Democrat. A complete list of St. Joseph and Decatur Catholic high sichool books and prices and public schools’ lists will appear in an early issue of next week. Parents have been busy the last several days taking advantage of the bargains in the Decatur stores outfitting their children for the winter grind. Books for all grades will go on pale in a few days at Drug Co., and all local drug stores and variety stores are featuring school accessories such as tablets, pencils, ink, lunch buckets and other school time requisites. Local families with school age children are returning from their summer homes and, in a few days classes will officially start. Then in a few more days, football, and other sports will take up the slack time when the children are not in school. Canada Likes Ike PORTSMOUTH, N. H. The announcement that Central Soya Company would locate here was made by Dale W. McMillen, who in, 1932 had purchased the sugar factory and organ! zed the Central Sugar Company, the only beet sugar processing plant in Indiana.
