Decatur 3-3810. v 216TF REPORTER (Continued From I’nKe One) city might be fortunate to be able to take over a field that is three quarters built and have it called a municipal airport from the minute they care to do so. Miss Ivetich has stated that she would lease the part of the strip that belongs to her to the city free of charge for an unlimited time. The others who use the field said they would gladly donate any free time they had to tne betterment of the facilities. What about, the farmer; what can a field do for him? A talk with- L. E. Archbold, |dams county agricultural agent, reveals that planes are invaluable in detecting soil discrepancies of any nature. He said soil special-

Another thing is; that a municipal airport “is on the map,” recognized and .installed in the airport network of the slate. As for the future, the field at present can expand if need be to 3,090 feet in length, enough to accontodate the largest private craft In the air. An outstanding feature of the proposed city field is that it can be maintained by less than a half
