Two Os Test Plots Harvested July 16 Oats Variety Arid Fertilizer Tests The oats variety apd fertilizer test plots sponsored by the crops project committee and planted on the Joe Isch farm in Vrench township were harvested July 16. K. E. Beeson represented Purdue University in this result) demonstration meeting. Thirty people took part in the sessions. The tables below give the harvest results on the plots. A3% nitrogen application gave a 2 bushel increase; 6 percent, 11 bushel increase and 12 percejnt, 19 bushel increase. If the pleats had not been so weedy, test Weights would have been better. The variety plots Clinton 59 and Benton to be the best adapted varieties for this Ajax, the highly tbuted' Canadian variety, trailed far In the rear. This is characteristic of all northern oats when taken so far from where they are adapted, no matter how well they do qt home.
