studabaker' reunion HELD SUNDAY, JULY 13 The Studabaker reunion was held, last Sunday at the home of Mr. and ..Mrs. Otto Thieme, east of Decatur, for approximately sixtythree people. At noon hour av bountiful dinner Was enjoyed. Mrs. L- L. .Baumgartner, of Bluffton, was the eldest - person present and two couples,\ Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Huffman and Mr. and Mrs. Miller,* all of Bluffton, ‘ have .their golden wedding' anniversar-. ies. ■- -- . \ A btisinejss session was’ in charge of the president, Hugh French of Geneva. It was decided to hold the 1953 reunion at the old Studabaker homestea’d, south of Bluffton, now occupied by Mr. and MrsJ DaJe Huffman. In an -Election of officers Charles A. Bowman was elected president. Harry French, Mrs. J. Edward and Mrs. Hugh Cobb, program committee, and Mrs. Charles A. Bowman, secretary-treasur-er; OFFICERS OF EAGLES AUXILIARY MEET .The officers of the Eagles auxiliary met Tuesday evening in the Eagles hall. Members wishing to go to Wabash Wednesday are asked to be at the hall at; six o’clock or call Mrs. Moffeah. Another announcement concern-ingr-the family party AUgust 14 was made and all members having birthdays in July ,will be honored with a birthday party July 29 after the regular meeting. The meeting closed with this. _\ MRS. TERVEER ENTERTAINS WEDNESDAY 2 EVENING ’ Mrs. ; John—Terveer entertained Wednesday evening at her hoijie. for her mqther, Mrs. William Deriche of Chicago, 111,, who is visiting in Decatur. Kimball confirmed Wednesday night that the na-vy’s D-582-2 Skyrocket has flown 1,238 miles per hour and urged American scientists to develop an even better atomic-lpowered plane. in a statement issued by naval officers at Kimball's news conference, the secretary officially confinned reports of the rocket plane’s amazing speed and said it had reached .an altitude of 79,494 feet in a test flight. Expanded Telephone Capacity Underway An expansion \of telephone capacity is being planned for the bear future to permit almost 1000 more calls to be handled from subscribers in the south part of the city, said Charles Ehinger, president -of the Citizen's Telephone Co. today.
