LEGION AUXILIARY ENJOYS SOCIAL NIGHT The American Legion Auxiliary met Friday evening at the Legion home for a social night. Cards were the evening’s entertainment and prizes' were awarded to Mrs. Kenneth Singletoif, Mrs. Ben Eitfng. Mrs. Carl Mentfer. Mrs. Ed Kirchner, Mrs. Vincent Bormann an<J Mrs. Henry Braun. The . committee in charge was Mrs. T. C. Smith, Mrs. Frank Behnke, Mrs. Dallas Brown, and Mrs. John Jones. An announcement was made concerning the fourth; district meeting which will be held :in Berne at Lehman park July uO beginning at ten, o’clock that morning. Reservations are to be in not than July 3 and to Mrs; R. C. , Hersbh. Meat and coffee will be furnished and members are asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service. ST. PAUL LADIES AID MEETS RECENTLY \ The St. Paul Ladies Aid met recently with Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Echreiderer of near Ossian. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by the following guests. Mrs. Sadie Meyers. Cavanaugh whose term expired under canon law. Hesburgh. vice-president of the university for three years, becomes the school’s 15th president. Happy Hustlers The Happy Hustlers 4-H chib held their regular meeting June 24 at the home »of Annette Thomas. The meeting was opened with the pledges to the flags led by Patty Frank and Wanda Neuenschwander. Group singing was led by Wanda Neuenschwander. The roll call and the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A demonstration "How to Freeze Foods” was given by Farolyn Mitchel and Bette Royer. A musk Cal spepial feature was given on the piatio by Patty Prank. Following the meeting refreshments were served by Annette Thomas. Karen Reed, Linda Reber, arid Gretchen Schnepp. Happy-Go-Lucky n The Hartford Happy-Go-Lucky 4-H club held their regular meeting recently at the Hartford school. The meeting was called to by Lavera Alt, after which thq £roup enjoyed a number of songs. The roll call was answered by •‘Your F avorite Flower.” The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Demonstrations were given by Berdella Alt on “Accurate Measurements” and Suzanne Bailer and Nancy Wheeler on “Oatmeal Cookies.” Refreshments were served by Suzanne Bailer, Nancy Wheeled, and Berdella Alt to 18 members, one visitor, and two present. The next meeting will be held July 7 at tlje Hartford school at 7:30 p.m. Kirkland Kutups The fourth meeting of the Kirkland Kutups was held recently at the home of Marcia Zimmerman. Fractured Pelvis Is Suffered In Accident Henry Bosse, 65, of Decatur, is lhl the Adams county ritemorial hoppital, with a fractured pelvis as a result Os an accident Wednesday with Herbert Stoner, 70, also of Decatur. The sheriff’s department reports that Bosse’s and cars collided at an open intersection on a county road five miles south and three miles west of Decatur. Stonjer’s car, the report reads, hit Bosse’s directly broadside resulting, beside the injury to Bosse
