Evangelist
The Rev. and Mrs. Blanchard Amstutz, of Pandora, 0., will be evangelists tor four services beginning Friday at 7:30 p. in. at the Winchseter U. one mile west and one mile south of Coppess Corner. Services will continue at 7:30 p. m. Saturday and 9:30 a. m. ahd 7:30 p. m. Sunday. The song service will be directed by Rev. Amstutz, with Mrs. Amstutz at the piano. Special features will fee scene-o-felt pictures, character a special -time for the’ children. Gospel messages will be delivered by Rev. Amstutz. The public is invited.
Mr. and Mrs Edward .Boknecht of Altadena, Calif., will arrive in Decatur Wednesday for a visit with friends and relatives. They wiil fly to Akron, Ohio, first to visit Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz, sister and brother-in-law of Boknecht, and then go to Fort Wayne by train. The Boknechts are former Decatur residents. Mrs. Leigh Nelson, the formpr Clair Mowery of Decatur, is recovering satisfactorily, after a recent operation in a hospital in Williamsburg. Va. Hek’ address is Mrs. Leigh , Nelson, 137 Virginia Avenue. Williamsburg, Va. Nongan E. Robinson of India- • napolis, former teacher at the Monmouth school, attended the com- > mencement exercises at the school last evening. Robinson has almost fully recovered from injuries received in. an aiito accident last October and plans to resume teaching next fall. Mr. and Mrs'. Cedric Fisher and daughters. Shirley and Eleanor, motored to Freemont Wednesday to attend commencement exercises at the Freemont high school, in which Miss Judy Myers was a member of the graduating class. Judge and Mrs. Myles F. Parrish and Mrs. Frank Parrish entertained with a dinner Monday evening honoring the first birthday of their son and grandson, Marion Franklin Parrish. Guests included Dr.i and Mrs. R. K. Par-\ rish and sori. Richard 'Kenneth 11, J. C. Augsbyrger and Mrs. Fannie *. Hales of west of Berne. The honored guest received many gifts. —4 —*— Feast Os Ascension Is Celebrated Today The feast •of the ascension of our Lord into heaven was celebrated 4 today in St. Mary’s Catholic church. * A holy day of'obligation, masses were said at 5:30. 7 and 9 o’clock this morning. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given fol* lowing the last mass.
