home economics club in RECENT MEETING The Jolly - Housewife Home economies club held a meeting recently with thrity-one members, two 6 children and one guest present. The meeting opened, with the group singing the song of the month and devotions given by \ Mrs. Koos. Roll call was answered by each member telling how they would answer the telephone. During the business Session, plans were made for a bake sale and other articles . to be held at the Schafer store April 12. Complaints Are Received Here On Peddlers' Tactics It is spring and Decatur housewives : are being plagued by the annual influx of .salesmen and canvassers, especially the groups which offer magazines at special rates. \ Walter Ford, secretary of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce said today that his office had received several complaints concerning the tactics of | certain peddlers. There is no law which can refrain the peddlers from calling, but their conduct can be controlled by-reporting any discourtesies or fraudulent deals irnmedi ately to the Chamber of Commerce, Ford sakj. 1 Decatur police also will cooperate with the Chamber In keeping the peddlers under control.
