LOCAL GIRL TO SING with Indiana u. choir Miss Alice Langston, a junior in /the Indiana University school of music and daughter of Mr? and Mrs. C. C. of this city, is a member of the Indiana University Choir which has a program every Sunday called “Music for Youth.” There are forty members featured in the choir, under ’the direction of Dean W. C. Bain of the university. The broadcast may be heard over the three Fort Wayrte stations; WGL at 6 p.m., AVKJG at 7:30 p.m. and WOWO at 11:05 p.m. and also on Thursday over station WANE at 2 p.m. i future homemakers MEETING IS HELD ~ The Future homemakers of America of the Decatur chapter held initiation services for officers and new members 1 Thursday evening. . ' After the initiation, games were played and refreshments were served by the Misses Elnora GaUnt, Virginia Koenig, Pauline Roth and 'Phylis Barr. The new members taken in were the Misses Ruth Wargman, Joan Sweigart, Shirley Garner. Carol Bbwman, Vera Walters. Louise Wafts. Sharon Kreisher, Betty Knavel. Barbara Heller, Shirley Ritter, Nira Miller, Norma 1 Kelly and Lois Strahm . CHURCH GROUP MET WEDNESDAY Members of the Salem Methodist W.S.C.S. met Wednesday with Mrs. Austin Merriman. Devotionals were given by Mrs. Claude Fore’man and Miss Wanda Mann sang “This is my Father's world.” The lesson study, with God.” was given by Mrs. Harley Shady. .During the business meeting, several articles were reviewed from the world outlook. Several letters were read - from men in service and the election of officers was then ,held. AT MOOSE HOME! 1L The annual spring style show, sponsored by the Delta Theta Tau sorority, •was held Friday evening, with approximately 200 popple attending. | :< i Mrss Joan Weanltoff was the mistress of ceremonies,: jMrs. Max Spencer was the naratpr. replacing Mrs. Roy Kalvpr Who was ill, J and Mrs. James Kocher Jr. played her vibraharp throughout the evening. All wore of yellpw jonquils, presented Jiy the sorority. The stage where the models showed the fashions, was decorated with huge baskets of snapdragons and foliage# colorful toys and dolls. The childrein who modeled showed lines from the Kiddie Shop and Niblick and Co. This was the first time | children ever took part in the Style shtiy. Exhibits and a stunt and talent show will be the features of tie annual home economics spring party. The change of the name of the organization to Adams county home demonstration assciation was made at this executive session. i I! ! Presidents of the seventeen Adams county dubs that carry bn the Purdue extension program and their county olficerh mejt at the Monroe Methodist church annex; The annual social for all members and guests has grdwn to be a large affair. This year it will be held in the early part of the summer and include thd achievement exhibits. The exhibits will be set up by each club in the morning. Mrs. Maxine Schmitz, Mrs. Ethel Stepler, Mrs. Joan Keller, and Mrs. Mary Jane Miller. \ FEDERATION OF CLUBS MEET FRIDAY AFTERNOON The Adams County Federation of clubs met at the Legion home Friday afternoon for a carry-in luncheon. Mrs. A..C.E. Gillander gave the prayer and the meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs. Gerald Durkin. The Adams county chorus sang several selections under the direction of Mrs. Martin Neuenschwander, by Mrs. Leland Neuen at the piano. Mrs. Durkin then introduced the speaker for the afternoon. Trooper Richard Myers of the Pendleton post spoke on the topic. “Safety.” and illustrated his talk with slides. Legal Institute Is Planned On April 4 Bar Association Plans Institute The second annual legal" institute, sponsored by the Indiana state bar w'ill be held April 4 in the Chmaber of Commerce building, Fort Wayne, it was announced today. Vernon Riley, pastor, announced that a revival would lie held at the Friends Church in Monroe from March 24 to April 13. The Rev. Roy Johnson, of Spencerville. Ohio, will be the evangelist.
