MISS THAIS BUMGERDNER, .CHARLES STONESTREET, WED Miss Thais Bi|mgerdner. daughter of Mr.’and Mrs. W. M. Bumgerdner, and Cpl. Charles H. Stonestreet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Stoflestreet, Charleston, W. Va.., were united in marriage Thursday evening at the First Methodist church in this city. The Rev. Samuel Emerick performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Edger Berber presented the organ musicale. “The Lord's Prayer" was played softly during the evchange of tows. The bride, givep in marriage by her father, wore a two-piece dress |of turqois blu& trimmed with white collar and cuffs. Her hat was white straw with navy trim, ’and she wore an orchid corsage. Mrs. Bill Lechtfcnstiger attended as matron of honor and wore a two-piece dress oi blue and white with blue accessories. Her corsage was a bouquet of red and white camellias and she wore a single strand of /a gift of the bride. . Her corsage was of pink camellias. The groom’s mother was unable to attend. Immediately following the ceremony, a .reception wis held for about forty guests at the home of the bride’s parents. Jhe reception table was centered with .a three tiered wedding cake topped by ja minature bride and groom. Serving were Mrs. Harvey Stultri, Mrs. Robert Lord, Mite. James Coker, Mrs. James B. Haught of Claflin, Kansas. | j The former Miss Bunigerdner is a graduate of Dpcatur high school and is employed in the offices of the Central Co. of this city. Cpl. Stonestreet has been with the marine corpp for a little ovey a year; spending much of that time in Korea; •At present he is stationed at Cherry Point, N. (J. After a short Honeymoon trip to Charleston. W Va., where the couple will visit With family and friends of the’ groom, the couple will return to Decatur, where the bride will continue to make her home with her parents while the groom returns to camp at- Cherry Point. FORMER STATE CHAPLAIN SPEAKS TO AUXILIARY j The Rev. O. Pointing to other great nations, which, in their day, were, like the United States, the most powerful and prosperous inthe world. Rev. Busse point ed out the opportunities for patriotic service which the Americah Legion auxiliary offers to its members and urged that every woman enroll in the auxiliary for 1952 and help carry forward the organization's Americanisni, national security, community service, rehabilitation and child welfare work.

Later in the evening games were; played and. prizes awarded to Mrs. Harold Tieman. Smith is the’ son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell' J, Smith, 515 West Jefferson street. Miss Berling is employed at the Central Soya company and a graduate of Decatur Catholic high <-chool and International Business college. The bride-elect is a member of Delta Theta' Tau sorority. Iler fiance, who is stationed at; Baer Field, Fort Wayne, was graduated from Decatur high school. ■ No Wedding date has been set. It was decided to again buy tickets for the series of concerts given by the Fort Wayna Philharmonic orchestra and make these tickets available to the high school students.
