Wiesen, branch manager of the Fort Wayne unit of the Kroger C 6., announced today the company’s pew store, located at 141 South Second street, will be for*. maUy opened Tuesday morning at 5 o'clock. The company formerly operated a Store at 151 N. Second for a period of 25 years. The building which has been •taken over by the Kroger company was formerly occupied by the Mansfield Motor Sales Co, and is owned by Mr. and Mrs. George Schug of Roanoke, Va.’: formerly of this city. The residence, on First street at the rear of the store has been moved and this site will be used , entirely for convenient parking for Customers. . The entire store is equipped with f an - unusually large number of -fluorescent lights. Additional lightIng is obtained as, in the design of the store, a completely illuminated valence highlights the various departments throughout the building. Thia assists customers in quickly locating the various items in departments in the store. H A new style of shelving has been it being of a lower design and slanted in such a manner tha( cans and packages are easily accessible and so arranged to take advantage of the various ttractiye and interesting designs on the containers, Because of the manner in which the merchandise is placed on thie shelves, selection is easy. All shelving and island display units have been so placed that the store has very wide aisles to handle the maximum of traffic with ease.
