Miss Mallonee gave a most interesting history of the beginning of the Decatur public library and the beginning of a library in the church. The public library, built 1n>1906 at a cost of 115,000 started With 1,200 books and now ,haa 18,500. Business facts for women is the topic of the day’s study. The morning session will deal with facts for the home business center. This will include business supplies storage space and equipment recommended for a well-kept home. , A few of the elementary facts of banking will be included in the , one-day course. The discussion of accounts will not be just household accounts but includes the farm or family investments. mortgages, insurance, etc. The importance of women having some knowledge in these matters has been emphasized over: and over again when uninformed widows have been prey for Uie unscrupulous, > . The afternoon program will deal, with legal notes for women. This will be about making wills, inheritance laws, laws about wemeu holding property and laws on Adoption and guardianship. Requests for study on these subjects were made by several club members before the Adams county home economics council planned the 1952 study program. Mrs. Albert Beineke, cdunty president of the home economics clubs, will prreside during the day. Anna K. Williams, home demonstration agent, will assist with arrangements. The meeting will begin at 1 9:30 a.m. Thursday and continue through 3:15 p.m. at the De.catur high school home eo department. The leaders will have a potluck luncheon at noon.

A boy or girl must have itts tenth birthday in 1952 to mieet the minimum age rule. Torh Briede has agreed to photograph each leader at the Tuesday meeting. These pictures will be used in window displays during national 4-H! week, March 1-9. The leaders will elect their members to the 4-H, council. Ind., Feb. 8—(ilP) —Authorities sought a reason today for the suicide of Charlqs Porter Skinner H, 21, pf Moline, 111., reported to be the direct descendant bf the founder of a farm implement manufacturing concern. Skitmer, a student in DePauw University at Greencastle, Ind., was found dead late yesterday in the Demibg hotel where he registered Wednesday afternoon under an as- ; sumed name, “James Warren of Chicago."
