MRB. stults hostess TO HOME EC CLUB The Union Township Home Economics’ club met recently at the home of Mrs. Mariop : Stults? The meeting opened with the song •of the month, followed by roll call and the .club creed. Scripture was read and a discussion of community interests followed. The lesson on broiler meals was given by Mrs. Patricia • Morgan. , Twelve members and two guests attended and Mrs. Archie Smitley was welcomed as a new' member. The next meeting will be a "measuring” party at the home of Mrs. Frank Gleckler on February 27. A potluck dinner will be held at that time. TRI KAPPA DAY AT HOOSIER SALON Saturday was Tri Kappa day at the Hoosie«L_salon at the Wm. 'H. Block Co. auditorium in Indianapolis. The |sorority; promotes the salon by membership as a patron, with its separate chapters contributing also as patrons, and by substantial purchase prises. Mrs. Beryl Showers Rolland of Bloomington, founder and Ilf? member of Tri Kappa, is president of the Hoosier salon patrons’ association. having held this office since 1941. /»Trs. Lester Murphy of Hammond, ‘*a former state president of Tri Kappa, starved as a lay member of the jury for the 1952 salon. Kappa Kappa Kappa, gave its first prize at the salon in 1928 and four years later started an art collection by giving g purchase prize at each annual exhibit. Selections from thes pictures have been made into a travelling art collecj tion used throughout the state. Thejpommittee for the selection of this year's SSOO purchase prize Were Mrs. C. H. Eileen Bieberich was his accompanist. Wendelin's selections were well numbers selected from the wßrks of famous . composers, and he commented on each as to the background of the writer, and the purpose of the composition in < z musical literature. He also described his work among the mentally -defective children at the State School, and mentioned examples of unusual musical talent among otherwise underdevelope’d minds. Karl Reinking. program chairman, presented the speaker, r Entertainment and refreshments for the evening was in charge of Mr, and Mrs. Arthut Bieberich. ■; Mr. and Mrs.' Lee Fleming, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schnepf, Sr. President D. Hoyt Callow presided at the short business meeting; and urged each couple present to bring another couple to the group’s next meeting Sunday evening, March 2. Shirley Schnepp and Geneva Drake ’ will be hostesses. The Women’s Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will meet Tuesday evening at the church at seven forty five p.m. The program will be "In Every Place —In Latin America” and Mrs. Howard Haugk will be chairman.
