He is employed at the Dunwar Furniture Company in Berne, wheer the couple will .reside. ■' ‘ i ■ ’ » TRI KAPPA ASSOCIATES ' HAVE CHRISTMAS PARtY Nirs, Gladys Chamberlain entertained members \of the Associate chapter of Tri Kappa sorority last evening at six thirty o’clock at her home on South street She wds assisted by Mrs. Dan Tyndall and Miss Florence Haney. The entertaining rooms were beautifully decorated in keeping
with the Yuletide season. The guests enjoyed a delicious covered dish dinner at small tables centered with red tapers. Each place was marked with a tiny paper Christmas tree, upon wWL'H was written a wotd taken from the poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” ' \ I The serving table was beautiful with a centerpiece of red tapers in silver candelabra surrounded by pine bough? and colorful Christmas balls. During the business meeting Mrs. Frank Braun announced the Riley Cheer Guild project for the next meeting, to be held at the home of Mrs. W. Guy BroynJ V The annual Christmas exchange was then held and the gifts distributed in a clever manner. Mrs. Roy Kalver read the poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and as she read the words written on the favors each guest received ea gift marked with the corresponding word. Later in the evening a dessert was served by the hostesses. i— 1 - DAV AUXILIARY IN j BUSINESS MEETING Members of the D.A.V. Auxiliary held a called business meeting Monday evening at the D.A.V. hall. Officers for the past year were reelected and installation will ‘ takfe place December 27 at the hall. On Thursday evening the Auxiliary will have their annual Christmas party for the patients at the Fort Wayne Veterans hospital. They will combine with the three D.A.V. posts ’in Fort Wayne for the affair. Mary Ellen Scheiman is hospital chairman for the local unit. MRS. LEHMAN HOSTESS AT CHURCH MOTHERS PARTY \Mrs. Wesley Lehman was' 1 hostess last evening to members of 'the Church Mothers study club for t the annual Christmas meeting. She was assisted by Mrs. Royal Friend, Mrs. Len Houck, Mfr. Lee Fleming; and' Mrs. Henry Graber. i In the morning business session it was announced that the January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Herbert Banning. Members were urged to enroll in the first aid. classes which will be conduct ed the first of the year. At the noon hour a potluck din- , ner was served to thirty-one members, children and one guest. A. brightly decorated Christmas tree, under. which the attractively , wrapped exchange gifts were placed, decorated the entertaining room. Christmas carols were sung to ' open the afternoon devotional meeting. Mrs. Houck read the Christmas story from ttie gospel of St. Luke and offered it Christmas prayer. Poems were read by Mrs. Adolph Weidler and prizes for contests were won by Mrs. Richard Moses and Mrs. William Schnepf. Following the exchange jfrt gifts names for the new capsule friends were drawn.
