Kermit Crist And Missionaries Meet On Japanese Island > Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Crist, of Monroe,- todays made known a l'etter they received from their son. Kermit, in which he described meeting the Rev. and Mrs. Harry Bullis, missionaries of the Free Methodist church. His letter said that he and a navy friend -of his, 'Albert Kempn, of Arcadia, Cal., had Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and jMre. Bullis in their home in a small village bn the island of' Twaya Shfmi, off the mainland opposite , Osaka, Japan. \' . . . I It was "old home week*’ in a sense. Mrs, Bullis is the former Esther Watkins, of Monrof.b Seamen Crist and Kemph, stationed with the U.S. navy fleet activities base in Sasebo, Japkn, were honored in that they were the first two sailors eyer “to set foot” on the islands. It was explained that the island is a residential area and according to navy procedure is restricted to enlisted men. The young men attended services conducted by Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Frank, of South Bend, are the parents of a baby girl, borh on Thanksgiving Day in a hospital in that city. She has been named Sharon Ruth and is their second child and daughter.
