Million Dollar Loss In Fire At Chicago \ Chicago, Nov. 16. —(UP) —Fire burned through a seven-story bed factory last night, causing an estimated $1,000,000 damages. Firemen said the fire broke out on the roof of the Sleeprite Corp., Which is in a congested industrial district. One fireman was injured by falling bricks. Mrs. Izora Roop In Capital Hospital Mrs. Izora Roop, of Marion, wellknown former resident of Decatur, is a patient at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis for observation and treatment. Her room number\is B-16. Mrs. Roop was seriously injured in a fall on September 9 and was confined to the Marion general hospital until she was taken to Indianapolis early this week. Hews-Sentinel Is Picketed By Unioh Protest Editorial \ , Carried By Paper j Fort; Wayne, Ipd., Nov. 16 — (UPI-i-Freeses rolled as usual at the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel today in the wake of a union demonstration to protest a newspaper editorial about a labor dispute at the Capeheart-Farnsworth Corp. Some 200 United Electrical Workers Union members picketed the newspaper’s offices yesterday, They carried signs reading “we’re good red-blooded Americans.’’ They paraded a half-hour and then withdrew. ' Some 750 U. E. members have been die at the company since Nov. 2 in what the company terms a “strike” and the union a “lockout;” A News-Sentinel editorial entitled “A Red Pattern?” was the subject of protest. In part, the editorial said that “CapehartFarnsworth is a major supplier of a much-needed electronic- gear for the armed services ... it is pertinent to recall that the V.E. was ousted from the CIO because of its alleged sympathies for Communis :ic causes.” fcaitor Clifiord B.
