Jackets Lose To fort Wayne Central Tigers > The Decatur Yettmv Jackets wrote finis to, a rather lacklustre football season Friday by being on the bruising end of a 52-12 lacing administered by a clever tral of Fort Wayne eleven. Berne Defeats II [Cardinals In Season Opener The Berne Bears launched their 1951-52 basketball season Friday night on a victorious note,, defeating the Geneva Cardinals, 55-37,-at the Berne gym. Berne was on top at the first quarter, 11 5, but Geneva pulled within two points at .23-91 at the half. The Bears increased their advantage to 37-30 at the end of the third period. A- t Paul Spriinger was top scorer sos Berne.with 19 points on eight field goals and three free throws, followed by , Miller with 14 and Jerry Sprunger with 12. Blowers topped Geneva with 13. Berne, assessed 32 personal fouls, lost four players, while 16 fouls were called ggalnst Geneva.
