They will hold open house from two' until five o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home , of their eon, Don R. Gentis. Mr. and Mrs. Gentis arei well known'here and formerly lived in this community. Mrs. Rob-' I ext Macklin will again , serve as ' president, Mrs. George Bair . isj vice-president. Miss Elizabeth Petersen is secretary and Mrs. 1 Wilbur Petrie, treasurer. . Mrs. Simon Heemstra gave the I devotions, scripture and prayer, using as her subject "Freedom • Under Gad!” Mns._ A?C. E. Gillandder gave a talk, illustrated with pictures, on the children’s hohie Haines House home, Alaska, and Ming Quong home at Los Gatos, Cal., where children are cared for and given Christian training. Support is given these homes by opportunity gifts from the Presbyterian women. The meeting wao closed with the 'Mizpah, benediction. ‘ Members of the Naomi Circle were hostesses during the social hour and served lovely refreshments. |

DELTA THETA TAU HAS HALLOWEEN PARTY Pirates, ghosts, convicts and the like haunted the Elka home Tuesday night when members of the iDelta Theta Tau sorority held their annual Halloween masquerade party. The early part of the evening was given over to a scavenger hunt, each group, having fourteen articles to collect. Prizes won by Bonnie Reldenbach, Miller, Mary Colter, Kathleen Terveer, Shirley Lou Berling and Martha Laurent. Mildred Geimer (was given the prize for the best . masked 1 member. 1 The decorations in the entertaining rooms were in .keeping ,with the party theme and refreshments- were served by Mrs. Henry Neifeiter, chairman, Mary Martha I Terveer, Catherine Weidler, Mrs. Kenneth Arnold and Mrs. Al J Srhneider. j-MRS. JACK KLINE HOSTESS TO CLUB ; I Mrs. Jack Kline entertained at her home last evening for members of the' S. E. Bridge club. Following cards the hostess served refreshments from attractively appointed small tables. Prizes for bridge were won by Mrs. J. E. Acheson, Mrs. David Terveer and Mrs. Cal Burnett. HOLDS RECENT MEETING ' The Parent Teachers\ Assbcia- ■ tion of the Pleasant Mills school met recently . in the assembly room of the school. Mrs. Carl Frey, president, opened the meeting with the P.T.A. prayer. Mrs. Pearl Gehres, program chairman, gave a brief outline of the for the following months. The new teachers were introduced by Glen Custard, principal, who then gave a short talk on various school needs. The\ members votetf.to raise funds to purchase equipment for the work shop-* at the business meeting. Thirty-six members and several guests were present. Patty Andrews plgyed several selections on her accordion during the program and refreshments were served in the dining room by the October committee. ■ ■ —k GECODE SECOND SHIFT - HAS HALLOWEEN PARTY Thirty members of the second shift Gecode club were spookily entertained Wednesday night at twelve o’clock midnight, in the Boy Scout cabin at Hanna Nuttman park at their October party, “Ghosts Holiday.” Guests were greeted at the' door by a witch, who amused the group during the night with a huge owl and longrlegged spiders. The rpom was lighted only by a fire in the huge fireplace and lighted bandies. The tables were decorated in fall scenes, using pumpkins, corn shocks and stuffed animals. Favors were Halloween suckers, masks, . and large red noses attached to hornrimmed glasses, the latter worn by the members during the remainder of the party. After the two*course dinner Pearl Kreischer, newly-elected chairman' of the night girls, conducted a business meeting, giving some of the I highlights of the interclub confer-1 ence- »” > ld last weekend In New| York City, The door prize was won by Doris Garboden. EPSILON SIGMA CHAPTER RUSH PARTY WEDNESDAY Members of Epsilon Sigma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority held a Halloween rush’party Wednesday ; evening at the home of Mrs. Robert , Hess for prospective members.' Guests were Mrs. Roy Friedley.l Mrs. Walter Winteregg, Mrs. John Bauman, Harold Baker, Mrs. William Batter, Mrs. Verena Meyeir and Miss Barbara Sautter. As guests arrived they were directed to follow ghostly footprints to the entertaining room. The color scheme was carried out in orange and black and corn stalks and pumpkins decorated the corners. Spider webs, ' black cats and bats dangled from the ceiling. Contest® were enjoyed and Mrs.: Robert Andrews won the prize for’ the observation game. Miss BernaJ dine Faurote was awarded the prize I for the most original costume. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Al Geimer, chairman, Mrs. .Vernon Krugh, Mrs. !Arthur Wilson and Miss Faurote. The next meeting will be held November 14 at the home of Mis.
