Juke Boxes Win Over Screeching Fiddles Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 18.— j (UP) —The city commission de- I cided today that screeching fid- J dies are worse than brawls and ?! voted to relax its ban on juke ' boxes for a six month trial. ; The commission banned roib musk* boxes in drinking plates eight years ago because of the fist fights soldiers got embroiled in when Ron-uniformed customers failed to stand at attention during patriotic songs. The “poor quality” of the string l»and\ music and the annoying fiddlers” that replaced the ma 4 chines have made things even worse, the commissioners said. ' -V 1 ; \ ) . y.
