State Instigation Employes Arrested ’ jy 3 j a* Charge Food Theft At Muscatatuck North Vernon, -Ind., Aug. 2U—(UP) —Two former employes of the nearby Mu&catatuck state school were jailed today on charges of food theft and Governor Schricker ordered an investlgatioh to ‘see how far reaching it is.” Ray Ackerman, 51, North Madi-< son, and his wife, Rosa. 43, former cooks at the institution, were charged • with embezzlement. Sheriff Charles Dudley said they admitted taking food supplies and selling'them to small groceries in the area during the past ,IS months. Dudley, tipped by an anonymous letter, said Abkerman represented himself as a whole- , saler with ‘just a few goods left to sell at reduced prices.” Arthur Campbell, the governor’s executive secretary.. said Schricker was informed of the thefts late' yesterday. ’The governor will not tolerate this,’’ Campbell said. ‘He ordered slate police io make a thorough investigation and to prosecute to. the limit anyone connected With the thefts."
