Youth Is Fined For Disorderly Conduct Seven Questioned In Drinking Party One Adams county youth represented by attorney Hubert McClenahan, today pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge in city court after he had resisted arreat by City and county police officials. He was apprehended Saturday. The plea brought with It a $5 fine and pointers from Mayor Doan to the defendant and other youths Who were also in court, though none of the others was cited there with specific charges. The mayor alluded to the wisdom of cooperation [with authorities. "These officers,” he said, “aren't out to get any of you. They are performing their duties, duties for which they are bonded.” He referred to the contemptuous attitudes of youth in regard to the law, their disrespect for it, and the indifference of parents. i Actually, sheriff Bob Shraluka and three city policemen stripped seA’jen youths who allegedly were drinking. One of the youths, Leßoy Beer, 18, of route 3, was apprehended when he boisterously resisted arrest and “took a couple of \swings at one officer." Beer was stopped for questioning in connection with minors drinking, and being sold beer in this state. The seven youths, all of them between 16 and 20, and including John Nunn, Charles Johnson, Carl Hurst, Max Ainslworth, Charles Butler and Max Andrews, told officers they were celebrating the birth date anniversary of one of the members. Traveling in a pair of automobiles. sheriff Shraluka said he spied a case pl beer in one of the cars but by the time he threaded through traffic and was able to stop the beer was hidderr. The youths were then queried. | Happy Hoosier* & The Happy -Hoosiers 4-H club of French township held their last regular meeting July 31.
