PRETTY CEREMONY HELD AT PLEASANT MILLS Irene May Schwartz, daughter of M». and Mrs. L Reuben Schwartz us Berne, route one and Marvin DeUayne Watkins, son of Mr. ano Mrs. William T. Watkins, Decatur route nix, were united in marriagi I aturday night at six thirty o'clock at the Pleasant Mills Methodist church. , The Rev. Harlan T. Shady pertotmed the double ring ceremony, breeding the iparriage ceremony, organist Sher matt Nyffler and MUs Pauline Rupert, soloist, rendered a JHtewn minute musical*. The orga:< selections ineluded ‘'Because.*' ' Indian Love Cail” and the tradi-j-tional wedding marches. During the ceremony the organist played "The Lord's Prayer" and Miss Rupert #“og "I Love You Truly” and The .Years.” Following the performance of the ceremony I Miss Rupert sang "Savior Like A Shenherd Lead Us.” The bride's gown was fashioned Mitb a rated bodice of Chantilly lace over white slipper satin with a Peter Pan collar. Small satin Covered buttons fastened the baa-, due down the front and the long! fitted sleeves of Chantilly lace ended in points over her hands, The a.eeves also featured a row of yovered buttons. Her fuli\ gathered tkirt. with panels of lace at each ► ide, ended in a floor length drejs. Her veil was of imported illusion f birred to a pointed crown of seed nearls. She carried a Biblj, topped with a Cattles orchid, gif: < f the groom. Two strarfds of I-earls composed .the jewelry. Mias Jeanette Schwartz attended her sister as maid of honor. She was dressed in a lilac gown fasnioned similar to that of the bride. She carried a hand bouquet of yellow roses with yellow satin streamers. The bride’s mother wore a navy tress and carried a corsage of yel’ow roses. The groom’s mother also wore a navy dreads and carried a bouquet of roses. A reception for about one hundred and seventydive guests was held on the lawn of the Huser res’dence in Berne foUtrtring the church ceremony. Mrs. Leistner is a graduate of Berrie high school and prior to her marriage she was employed in the office of the Dunbar Furniture Co. Mr. Leistner i, a graduate *of Willshire, O. high school and is a farmer. After a short motor trip, the Lefstners will return to their farm in Ohio. Baking, Clothing Judging Underway Winning Exhibits Show At 4-H Fair Judging of 4 : H baking and clothing projects got underway today, with Mrs. Carroll Dates of Springport and Mrs. Opal Whiteman df Muncie as-the judges. \ | The Decatur Girls 4-H clqb had their exhibits at the high school this \morning and judging started at 10 a m. and continued through the afternoon Each girl takes her cake, cookies, or rolls to the bakihg judge and discusser the product with her and hears her comnientrf and suggestions. Mrs. Bates 'then decides whether the cake gets a blue, red, or whi'e ribbon. After each cake is judged and the ribbon ai}d cake in place it is pealed in cellophane and taken to the freezer. The Schmitt locker service is donating the use of its to the 4-H baking girls for this activity. The frozen baking will Tie stored at the Ibckyr until the opeiimg day of the 4-H fair at Monroe; August 7, when it will b£ put on display for the public. The frozen cakes keep very well and will be god! to eat when the girls take them home at the close of the fair, August 9. The clothing girls also have individual conferences with their judge.
