Contino Willing To Enter Army Service Accordion Player Confined To Cell Safa Francisco, July 25—(UP)— Handsonfe Dick Contino, $4,000-a---week accordionist who dodged the draft because the army him a “fenced in” feeling, waA confided to closer quarters today in a jail cell. ■ Robby-soxcrs wept and an understanding psychiatrist held the 21-year-old former butcher boy’s hand last night after Contino unexpectedly pleaded guilty to evading induction into the army last April. Federal judge Michael J. Roche ordered Contino jailed without bail sot two weeks while he studies the youth’s plea 1 for immediate induction sO he can become a "good "soldier.” V\ Contino said he was sorry he caused the public to believe “that 1 was attempting to avoid my duty.” “1 want everybody to know that I am ready to enter the service whenever they consider me physically able, or to do anything else I can to serve,” Jie said.
