Youngsters Bury | Their Pet Cot In Formal Ceremony The thing to do, of course. Is remember that you were young.once yourself—when a thing like burying your pet cat was one of the most important icings in the world. ;1 At least it was important Monday evening to a group -of youngsters in the neighborhood of Fifth and Sixth streets. FOr Benny Colter’s cat,who used to live with Benny at d>lß West Madison street, died and the children had to bury Him with full ceremony. Thjere were Leroy Ratliffe, Qf. Short Sixth street and \Gregg Sihfth, of Fifth street, and other youngsters gathered at the site. There was no formal rite: there was only thh feeling of the children shown in their .complete seriousness. For they dug a grave, and they marked ofl’e end .of it with a red cross, and at other end they placed a granite tombstone. And on the grav? they placed flowers, including hydrangas, and also some tomato and asparagus plants. And e’-eryone was sad. When the job of burying the ca|t was fihished, one little girl stood I there and said softly, “f know he’ll go to heaven.” She was very young and propounced It “hebbin” but all the other children 'knew exactly what she meant. !
