Authorities Raid Four Tipton Clubs , Gambling Equipment Is Seized In Raids Tipton, Ind., June 20—(UP)— Prosecutor Troy N. Hutto today studied charges against the managers and trustees ot four clubs ‘ after >15,000 worth of gambling equipment was confiscated in raids last night. Managers of three ot the clubs werd arraigned in Tipton circuit court today on gambling charges, but judge Cleon Mount released them on their own recognizance at Hutto’s request. t Hutto raid he wanted to file similar charges against the trustees of the clubs. The three managers were Don Lord of the Moose s lodge, Merill Hughes of the Elks, and Ernest J. Robinson of the American Legion. Police also held a warrant for the manager of the Knights of Colum- '

Channel Swim Plans For Children Issue British Government 1 May Refuse Attempt London, June 20 —(UP)' —» Plans for two Miami, Fla., children to try the 21-mfle swim across the English channel became a parliamentary issue today. The government will r be asked formally tomorrow if it will refuse permission for the parents of Bubha and Kathy Tongay to land in Great Britain, in order to prevent the "exploitation and commercialization” of the children. \ ’ Brig, F. Medliocott, national liberal conservative member of commons, tabled the \ question tor home secretary James Chuter Ede. Britain’s leadihg channel swimming trained, Ted Terame. has called'the plan for the four and five year old’ children “criminal” and impossible. Lions To Complete Scrub Work Monday Lions club members got about half of their job of scrubbing the peace monument completed last night ahd then rain stopped them. Most of the members took shelter in the court house, where an informal songfest was held. \ Members will again meet next Monday bight at 7:30 o’clock and complete the job. Couple, Young Son ) Kidnaped, Released / Indianapolis Family Taken On Wild Ride ] Indianapolis, June 20 —(UP) A filling station operator, his wife and their small Son were kidnapped and forced on a wild 45-mlnute ride in the family car that “seemed like a lifetime” here last night then released unharmed, police said today. Police held two men on vagrancy charges as suspects in the kidnaping of Don Borgman, 33; his wife,' Louise, 31, and their two and one-half year old son, Michael. Borgman sula turee men m early 20’s drove up to his west side home as, they were leaving the house for a movie. On of the men jumped behind the wheel of Borgltoah’s car. he said, and the other two forced the family to get in thr front seat besire him. Borgman told police he tried to stall for time but the other two men got ih the back seat of the car and they sped away on a wild ride through city I streets that reached 70 miles an hour. . “We don’t want to hurt yon.” Borgman quoted the driver as saying. “We ar& in trouble and we've got to get away.” They drove through northwest side streets for] almost an hour, running stop streets and traffic lights. Borgman said. Finally the driver turned down an alley and stopped near a dump, Borgman added.
