Misses Julianne Meyer And Dorothy l Schumm List Attendants For Weekend Weddings Miss Julianne Meyer, ot/this city, and Misa Dorothy Scjiumm. of Rockford, 0., who have chosen traditional June for their keddings, today announced completed plans for their nuptials. Mfas Meyer will be married to Richard Des Jean at nine o’clock Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church- Miss -Schumm, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Schumm of Rockford, has selected Sunday afternoon for her marriage to Paul E. Shaffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J.

Mrs. Bill Butler will be the bridesmaid and Miss Charmaine Des- | Jean, sister of the groom-elect, will serve as junior bridesmaid. Little' Miss Patty Geimer will be flow|er girl and David Geimer ■will carry the rings. They are children of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Geimer and cousins of the bride. Max Colchin is to serve as best man and the guests will be seated by Robert E. Meyer, brother of the “bride-elect, and Maurice Colchin. The Very. Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz will celebrate the nuptial mass and the girls’ choir will sing. The lesson, “Voluntary Poverty,” was read from the first Beatitude and Mrs. Julius Brite read an article on the body of Pope Pius X being exhumed for beatification. An interesting discussion followed and the meeting closed with recitation of the losary. I The newly-elected officers will be installed at the next regular meeting. They are: president. The Decatur Home Economics club family picnic will be held at six o’clock Wednesday evening at Hanna-Nuttman park. Those attending are asked to bring sandwiches, a covered dish and their table service. The committee will furnish the beverage and dessert. Mrs. Robert Yost, of Stratton Plate, was in Blqomington over the weekend to attend the commencement exercises at Indiana University. Her sister. Brayton spent the weekend in Indianapolis attending the reunion banquet of the 308th field signal battalion of World War L of which Brayton was a mefaber. He is being checked to ascertain his ailments but his condition is not believed serious, according to attending physicians. Martha E. Hossman Is Taken By Death . Berne Woman Dies ' After Long Illness Miss' Martha E. Hossman, 68, proprietor of the Hoksman hospital in Berne, died at her home Monday following an extended illness of cancer. She had operated the convalescent hospital for 25 years.- : | j ; .■ ' Miss HoSsman was bora in Bern, Switzerland, March 11, 1883, and was brought to this county six months later by parents, Mr. and Mjts. Frederick Hossman. She was a member of the Cross Evangelical and Reformed church. • Surviving are two sisters, Miss ,Lena B. Hossman of Berne and Mrs. Rosa Keske of Dayton, 0., and nieces and four nephews. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.
