New Haven Is Winner Os NEIC Baseball Title \ : V ■ ■! 4 / Rallying for three runs in the top of the seventh, the New Haven Bulldogs defeated the Decatur Yellow Jackets, 5-3, at Worthman field Wedndrday afteronon, the giving the /Bulldogs the | Northeastern Indiana conference ' championship. | New Haven had previously de- ' seated Bluffton and Warsaw, | while Decatur had downed Blufffton. The Jackets were scheduled Ito close their season th|s after|noon, meeting the Warsaw Tigers iat Warsaw in another NEIC tilt. The teams were tied at 2-2 going into the final ininng. A walk . and a pair of Decatur errors allowed New Haven to score three runs without a hit. The Jackets came back for one run 1n the last of the seventh but were halted before they could knot the score. Harold Bohnke limited New Haven to only three hits, but his mates made five errors to aid the I Bulldogs* scoring. The Jackets 'obtained five hits off Chuck Gla(dieux and his mates chipped in with four mishaps. The box score was not available today when the school scorebook was on the missing list.
