W.M.A. MEETING HELD THURSDAY EVENING Mrs. Opal Sudduth was hostess Thursday evening to members of the W.M.A. of the Nuttman Aveinue United Brethren church. A brief business meeting was conducted by the president. /V Mr’s. Raver was the ' program leader. Assisted by her son, Dick, she conducted an imaginary tour i through the Near Eas( and North Africa. \ Scripture was read by' Mrs. Sudduth and prater was offered by Mrs. Terrell'. The children of the couple, five daughters, three gons and their families, will be present for the affair. COWENS HOSTESS TO EVERREADY CLASS \ The Everready class of the First Methodist church held their meeting Thursday evenlpg at the home of Mrs. L. A. Cowqns. Mrs. Virgil Krick had charge of the demotions. She gave several inspiring meditatioris and a synopsis of the book, “The IjOst Word” by Henry Van Dyke. \ i Mrs. Arthur Suttles then : gave an Interesting review of “The Church—Past and Present.’’ She traced the development of the Methodist rihurch | from its early foundation by the Wesleys in North Carolina, through Virginia and into Indiana. : ; She told of the first chtrrch in Decatur, located at the site of the present Moose home, and the struggle to obtain the present church. Her mother. Mrs. John Niblick, was president of the Ladies Aid in the nearly church. The father Os the late W. E. “Ness” Mobn helped build the present church. • \ i , Mrs. Suttles then discussed rural churches and small; city churches end the vital roles they have played in the growth of our country. She mentioned three large city churches which; are very outstanding, White Temple church.

JSeimeiz celebrated the nuptial mass rit nine o’clock in St. Mary's Catholic chtffchr Bouquets of spring flowers in pastel shades graced the alter, flanked with arrangement of palm and lighted candlebya, and the ahde was carpeted in white. ■Mr. *and Mrs. Joseph Gee)s, of route fdur, are the bride’s parents and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs-’Phillip Alles of near Columbia, City. Sistqfr M. Ambrosine. organist, played , the traditional wedding marches and accompanied thq girls’ choir, whb sang the Regina Pacit mass. A.t the offertory they sang “Aya Maria” and at the communion “Ranis Angelicus.” After the mass the Choir sang “On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother” as the bride presented a bouquet at the alter of the Blessed Virgin. Th,e bride’s period gown featured a Queen Anne satin collar overlaid with lace. The bodice was fitted and iong sleeves came to points over the hands. A satin peplum trimmed.jwith lace accented the hipline of the full skirt, which had a jphapel iringth train/ Her fingertip veil was held by a bead 4 ed tiara anij she carried a tapered arrangement of white roses centered with a white orchid. Miss Vera Geels attended hqr .sister as maid of honor in a gown of white organdy over taffeta, embossed with a touch of yellow and highlighted in the bodice and skirt with ban’ds of yellow taffeta. Miss Patricia Alles, sister of the groom, and Was Shirldy Geels, cousin of the Bride, as bridesmaids, were gowned identically .to the maid of honor, /Their gowns were accented with green. All the attendants wore mitts of matching organdy and picture hats of pleated organdy. The. Misses Beverly Alles and Shirley Geels served as flower girls in floorlength dresses of yellow organdy over yellow taffeta. Ivo Alles attended as best mrfn for his Brother and ushers were Carl Geels and Herbert Alles. 4 1 -
A wedding dinner, was served to thirty-five guests at .the C- L. of <1 hall- following the ceremony. A large wedding cake surrounded with huckleberry foliage and sweet peas arid flanked with candleabra holding , white .tapers centered the bridal table.
