Jackets Score Easy Victory Over Geneva A veteran Decatur high school basketball team utiliMxl it* superior height, a fast break and a ragged defense to overpower a completely willing but hapless tie- , neva team on the latter's floor Friday night. It was the initial game of the|. season for the Yellow Jackets, who raced and aped to a 65-34 victory, over a Geneva team that had I rouble getting abet* away and finding the range. The Jackets jumped into an ear- , ly lead when big center Vic Strli kler took a pass from Harold Hohnke, dropped in a layup, and laid the foundation for the evenlng's--45 points The Cardinals Carl Mann garnered a charity toes to make the score !-t, but the Jackets started pulling way from then on out. leading at the end of the first quarter by a 2l>-5 score. It wasn't uatu a eouple of minutes of the second quarter had elapsed that Mann sank one from the field for the Geneva team's only field goal of the first halt. The small Cardinals' offensive thrusts only carried them about three-quarters of the length of the floor, where they found tl impossible to penetrate the sone defense set up by the taller Jackets.
