He was born at Vera Cnu April ». IMiO. a son of John and Barbara Gardner Smith. and was married to Mary Baumgartner Oct SI. IMS He had resided on the same farm tor the past a years. He wna n member of gt. John's Evangelical and Hefbrraed church at Vera Crus. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs Elisabeth Lalaure. at home, and Mrs. Fred Kauffman of near Berne; one son. Alonso Smith, at home; sis grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One daughter, three brothers and three sisters are deceased. , . Funeral services will be held at * pm. Saturday at the church In Vera Crus, the Rev. H. H. Meek stroth officiating. Burial will be In the chureh cemetery. The body will be removed from the Yager ’ mortuary to the residence, where friends may call after noon Friday.
