LIGHTED CHRISTMAS CANDLE If you enjoy making your own Christmas decoration* you certainly will want to try your hand at one of the handsome luminous candles pictured above Designed by lighting specialist*, the hollow candle Is filled with colored lights to give it a rainbow glow when lighted With a little help from Had and a few scrajis from his home workshop you can fashion a candle like the one above in Just a few hours. Here are the steps to follow: First, make a base 12 inches square of •» inch plywood board Next, mount a piece of dowling is inches long upright in the center of the base Then, fasten 7 socket* of a IV socket Christmas string Io the dowling having the toj> socket upright for the flame Mount the remaining on the base and cover with crushed aluminum foil, pulling the socket* through the covering Vse colored bulbs in each of the soc kets and add a few sprigs of holly if you like Now, to complete the candle, roll a HHnch by 16 inch piece of fibre glass, parchment or other translucent material Into a cylinder about five inches in diameter Fasten with staple* or glue and place over the dowling and lamp blubs. Make a "lid" by cutting a five inch circle of the same ma letial and insert the socket in the center of it.
