A new type of home, known as the trend home, is being con strut ted in Stratton Place by Carl Striker, local contractor, and from the inquiries already received concerning the structure, indications are it will be one of the most popular types of medium priced homes to be built in 105 ft. Robert H. Heller, local real estate operator, stated today that he was planning to build at least two more of the trend homes soon and they would be offered for sale early in the spring. *Show date of the first of this ■ type has not been announced, but the outside work has been complet|ed and it Is believed a showing j will be made in the next few I weeks. Basements are available, it was indrited out. but most of the plans are with a utility room on the ground floor. One of the new features is the hot-air semiradiant heating plant. The oil or gas furnace is placed in the bottom of the chimney, and all of the heat goes to the top of the house, where it is forced down by a fan. both into registers and also into pipes, constructed in concrete under the floors. .Mr. Striker explained that 75 percent of the heat was obtained through the registers and 25 percent was returned through the floors. There is an attached garage and numerous built-in features, accord- . ing to the plans. Ex-Convict Held For Mail Thefts Indianapolis, Dec 16. —(UP)— Fred Colwell, 56. an ex-convict, was held for a federal grand Jury today on charges of mail theft. Colwell of Indianapolis, admitted stealing dozens of letters from Indianapolis homes, authorities, said. They added his activity may have been statewide. He allegedly Used an alias of Fred Grigsby. "It looks like he was in this mail stealing business in a big way," IT. S. attorney U. Howard ( aughran said. Colwell s police record dates back to 1»14. Caughran said.

Christmas Party At Hoagland Tuesday The Madison township, Allen county, firemen will hold a Christmas jmrty for the children of Hoagland and surrounding Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock. A large tree has been erected and decorated and colored lights have been strung across the street. Santa Claus will be present to hand out approximately 500 treats to the youngsters, who will also be given a ride on the fire truck. Children up to 12 years of age will receive a generous handout from Santa. The firemen plan to make this an annual event. Pair Arrested For $150,000 Jewel Theft Perryton. Tex.. Dec. 16. —(UP) — A former private detective and his sweetheart were held today after they led officers to where they hid |lso.ooff in stolen Jewelry. most of it in a deserted hog pen. The man was Lloyd Edwin Roberts, 24. formerly of Perryton and now a resident of Dallas. His girl friend was not identified. Charges will be prefered against them today. The jewelry, consisting of rings, watches, necklaces and other trinkets, were stolen from a drug store here Dec. 7. Two Jewelry salesmen had left them in the store for safekeeping.
