|Bo don’t try to mall thia year's I Yule greetings with cent i stamps left over from laid ( hristi mas. he cautioned. All sorts of embarrassing things may happenYour mail carrier may return the cards to you stamped, ••insufficient postage." Or they may be held until the addressee supplies the additional postage required by the new law before the mysterious envelope - which turns out to be your "Merry Christmas" wish - may be delivered to him. Or your cards may be shunted Into the dead letter office, if they're deposited at the peak of the Christmas mailing rush and they bear no return address. To preserve your cheery Christmas cards from these indignities, the postmaster recommends send Ing them all by first class mail. That means with a 3-cent stamp! First class mail rates "directory service.” by which skilled post office clerks try to trace down addressees who have moved. Your <ard may be forwarded from one address to another. If the addressee isn't located, the card will come back to you if the envelope bears your return address. Christmas cards carrying 2 cent stamps are third class mail. They must not be sealed and must not contaty personal messages. Only one effort is made rs» deliver them. If the address proves incomplete or incorrect, your warm-hearted Christmas greetings land in the dead letter office. I "One of the saddest sights on

Fortune Tellers Ordered By Police To Leave Decatur The medium of palmistry is in for some hard days, it seems, when the oracle* who practice forecasting the future are unable to predict their own fate. Or possibly it Is merely lack of cooperation on the part of the Decatur ptdice department. A group moved into the McConnell building on North Second street four days ago, advertised that they would tell the future of all who would come into their blanketed rooms, and business went on as usual. Thia morning, however, local police warned them to move on to other parts, and leave the city of Decatur and take their forecasts and advice with them. The potency of the palmist's ability can be ascertained from the fact that they were wholly unaware of the fact that they were no longer desirable citizens. The first and best estimate of their ability is that they do not have a palm of their own. There were no indications to where the next move might be; the life-line, someone said, was so short they could not find it. and the predicting business was being too carefully watched. “It's getting so a man can't even make a fast dollar on a handout anymore," one of the men said. Democrat Committee Will Meet Friday Indianapolis. Nov. 30. —(UP) — State chairman Ira L. Haymaker said today that the Indiana Democratic state committee would meet Friday to map plans for the 1950 Democratic state convention. It Is best to use suffering instead of fleeing from it.
