Juror's Remark May Lead To New Tria! Convicted Slayer May Win New Trial New Castle. ln<l.. Nor. 30. — (VP)— The alleged remark by a Juror that “I've already made up my tniii<l,” today threatened to give Francis Hedrick a new trial for the murder ot Fassett Hinshaw last spring. Hedrick, convicted by a jury i last week, was sentenced to life | imprisonment for second degree | murder yesterday by Henry circuit judge John Morris. Capehart Launches Election Campaign Hammond, Ind., Nov. 30. —(UP) — U. 8. Sen. Homer E. Capehart. [>., Ind., opened his 1950 campaign for re-election last night by blasting the Truman administration for its spending program. He said our National debt was "forced Americans into a form ot socialism." Capehart also attacked British socialism which he said was a "distribution of misery, rather than a re-distribution of : wealth.” Capehart told Lake county Republicans he was in favor of doubling unemployment compensation and old-age insurance payments. Motorist Is Fined For Reckless Driving Floyd Strouse, of route 2. was arrested Monday by city police and pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless driving in justice of the peace ' court Tuesday. Strouse was arrested by police in the 1000 block of North Second street and justice Floyd Hunter fined him fl and j costs, totalling *11.75. Rex Heare. 728 North Second street, reported to police Tuesday ' that his car, parked in the 300 block of Adams street, was hit by another car, damaging the left door of the car. Indianapolis Man Arrested For FBI Wheeling. W. Va„ Nov. 80. — (UP) — John Dewey Kilburn, 28. of Indianapolix, wanted for de frauding service stations in numerous states, was held here today for FBI authorities. The dspper Kilburn was arrested in Wheeling yesterday after he attempted to buy four whilewall tires on a fake credit card. An oil company whose name appeared on the card was notified by service station operator Sam D. DeMark and the firm in turn contacted police. Kilburn was arrested in his automobile in downtown Wheeling a short while later. He is charged with making similar transactions in a numlter of states, Including Ohio, Georgia and Texas.
