Among the selections were Panis Angelicas, “On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother" and "Oil 1 laird I Am Not Worthy.” The bridal gown of brocaded : satin in a rose pattern, was made ■ with a square yoke of marquisette, which was joined by a bertha of Schoenle and Donald Voglewede ushered. ' Mrs. Schoenle was attired In a toast colored dress, complemented with dark brown accessories and a corsage of gold pompoms. The ' groom's mother wore green, with 1 a black velvet hat and black a<- ' i essorles. Her corsage was of pink 1 ■ carnations. The wedding dinner was held at ' the English Terrace in Fort Wayne ' immediately following the cereniony. Approximately two hundred \ and fifty guests attended the reception from three to five o'clock at the home of the bride’s par<nts. She Is attending the Notre Name-Southern Cal. game at South fiend today before returning to Bloomington. The condition of James Halberstadt, Sr. a patient at the Adams county memorial hospital, is reported as satisfactory. Frankfort. former Adams county resident died at Frankfort Friday afternoon at I o'clock, according to word received l»y relatives here last evening. The Laughreys resided for many years in Adams county and Mr. Igiughrey was a school teacher. Surviving are the husband: a daughter. Mrs. Thomas Pendry of Frankfort: a granddaughter and two brothers and two sisters. Tinbrothers and sisters reside in Fort Wayne. Funeral services will lie held at Frankfort Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock and burial will be in the Colfax cemetery. A number of Mrs laiughrey's relatives reside in Mon . roe township. Family Recreation Night At Monmouth A family recreation night will be held Friday. December 2. at the Monmouth high school gymnasium. ’ This will be a renewal of the reo reation programs sponsored last , summer by the Monmouth recreation committee. Activities suitable for all members of the family, from , small children to grandparents, will be Included on the program. This program Is so designed that persons may come and go as they please, taking part in the activities which they most enjoy. According to Mrs. Herbert Braun, chairman of the Monmouth recreation committee, some of the activities already scheduled are free bingo, various contests and relays for all ages, moving pictures for all. and such games as dart throwing and ping pong. High lighting the games will be a checkers tournament. This Tournament will be open to everyone, young or! old. from any part of the county | A complete list of activities will ; be announced at a later date There will be no admission charge for any activity. Amateur Night Is Held At Monroe Over 200 persons attended the amateur night at Monroe last ev- j ening. The crowd enjoyed the many . Famous Entertainer Bill Robinson Dies Negro Tap Dancer Dies Friday Night New York. Nov. 26—(i’P) Th«death of Bill "Bojangh-s" Robinson, negro dancer who spent a 13.1)00,000 fortune as fast as be earned it, saddened Broadway friends today who were planning a benefit performance for him when he died The 71-year-old tap dancer died almost penniless .ast night at the Columbia Presbyterian medical center where he had been ill with a heart ailment for two weeks. Broadway performers cancelled a night club show they had scheduled for Dec 5 to provide Robinson with money to meet his medical expense. Instead they planned to visit the Abyssinian Baptist church in Harlem where the famous hoofer will lie In state until his funeral s’-rvices Monday He will be buried in Evergreen cemetery. Brooklyn. Hundreds of messages of condolence poured in to his 2k-year old wife. Elaine, from celebrities and fans who had been fascinated by the exuberant tap rhytlnns which earned Robinson the title of "king of tap dancers." Robinson achieved fame not only as a star in his own right liut as a teacher of stars. Among his dancing pupils were Eleanor Powell. Dorothy Stone and Ruby Koeller. Screen star Shirley Temple, whom Robinson taught to dance when she was the dimpled baby star of “The Little Colonel,” said in Hollywood that his death meant "the loss of a wonderful friend." "BUI was a great dancing partner," she said. "He wanted to see my baby very badly ami wrote that he was bringing her a pair of dancing shoes when he came out here. But now he never will ” Hospital officials said Robinson died peacefully in an oxygen tent where he hail been almost constantly for the past week. With him were his wife and her sister.
