Motorist Is Fined On Traffic Charge Police Investigate Pair Os Accidents One man was fined by Justice of the peace Floyd Hunter In court Monday evening and two accident* were investigated by |*olic<>. Otbmer Moeller, of Celina. O. was fined 45 and coata by Justice Hunter when Moeller pleaded guilty to failure to atop at a stop sign at U. S highway 27 three miles north of Herne. Moeller wa» arrested a week ago by deputy sheriff Robert Shraluka. who ordered him to appear before the justice of the peace. Two cars were slightly damaged when neither driver would yield the right of way to the other. A car driven by Agnes Lichte, route 4. and one driven by James Lough. 1227 Madison street, collided at the corner of Thirteenth and Adams streets. Both cars were making turns off Adams onto Thirteenth the Lough car a right hand turn, the Lichte car alest — when they met. Police estimated the damage to the Lichte car at i |10; to the Lough car. |3O. Dr Theodore Meyer. Fort Wayne, following an illness of , four months. I She was born in Wells county ; Sept 1. 1888. a daughter of (Hied I and Sarah Klopfenstein Meyer, and I had nt ver married. Annual Banquet Is Held Monday Night By Decatur Firemen A bunch of the boys from the fire house were whooping it up last night in the rooms of the firehouse but they were not extinguishing any fires. The firemen entertained their wives, city officials, and representatives of the Central Soya Co. and their wives at the firemen's annual banquet. The firemen reversed the normal procedure for the banquet when they cooked the dinnerj "fried chicken and ail the trimI rnlngs"-for the more than 40 I people who gathered at the fire- ; house. Nov. 22. - i (UP)— Two men were in hoepl ’ tala today as a result of what i police said appeared to be one'9 ' plot to kill the other. Austin Coyle. 52. IL R. 1 Columbia City, was in a Columbia City ( I hospital with a severe head wiumd < which state trooper Nelson Winebrenner said was caused by a blow from a baseball bat. Wilson Hoffman. 35, R. R- I Columbia City, was in St. Joseph's hospital at Fort Wayne with a gunshot wxiund. Neither wan in serious condition. Winebrenner said Hoffman, a farmer, discharged Coyle yesterday as a farm hand. He said Coyle left, brooded over his Job loss, in a tavern, and returned to Hoffman’s home last night after thn Hoffman family had retired. Hoffman was shot with a revolver as he slept. He told Winebrenner he Jumped out of bed. grabbed a baseball bat and hit Coyle over the head, knocking him unconscious. Winebrenner said a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill probably would be filed against Coyle today. 'The incident occurred at 545! p.m. at Hoffman s home three' miles northeast of South Whitley. ■ according to deputy sheriff Lee Gross.
