Sherman Says Flier's Case Closed Copt. Crommelin's Case Closed, To Be No Further Action Washington. Nov 19 d pi Adm Forr.-st P Sherman, chief of naval operations, said today the case of Capt. John G Crommelin. reprimanded navy firebrand is closed and "no further action will be taken." "In his original letter of repri- ] mand Capt Crommeline was told h- could make a reply." Sherman said. "That reply was made, considered. and no further action will lie taken." Yesterday Crommelin requested Sherman either to ord--r him stand a general court martial or wipe from his record Sherman’s reprimand in which the naval chief questioned the 47-yearold officer’s fitness to command The Sherman statement thus apparently left the veteran navy flier with no place to go in getting the record cleared off the reprimand for disclosing to the press confi- > 1 dential navy letter* One of the letters criticized unification policies.
