Forty four members and eighteen new mem bers and guests were present. The speakers' table was decorated in t brown and gold, the Valpo colors, j with yellow tapers flanking a low , arrangement of yellow and brown ’ marigolds. Mrs. Henry Meyer described the fellowship ' hour and closing banquet of the national guild convention held at Valparaiso late In September, and Mrs. Jacobs reported on the busk ness sessions. Mrs W. J Ehlen distributed the program booklets for the year and Introduced Mrs. Eric Hoffman, who sang ”O Loving Father." Mrs. Howard Ruck gave an impressive reading entitled "The Lutheran Woman.” The meeting was closed with the solo “Prayer Perfect" by Mrs. Hoffman and the group repeated the lord’s Prayer. Mr. LengetUU was engaged In farming until 1931 and an employe of the Decatur Casting Co. from 1944 to February. 1949, when he retired. A former resident, Mark Noble, was one of the guests >f honor. As a boy of six. he was •he first patient In the Riley hospital. The members packed fifty dozen clever and attractive cookies last evening to be delivered to the hospital.
