Man Fined Here For Reckless Driving Gustav Henry Hobrock, originally charged with driving while under the Influence of alcohol, was fined 15 and costs by Mayor John Itoan today when he pleaded guilty to reckless driving Hobrock. 73, was arreated Friday, July IS, when his car hooked bumpers with a vehicle belonging to Herman Joseph Rumschlag. Hobrock was unable to control «iis car at the time, and was taken io the county jail for the night. He was charged with driving while under the Influence of alcohol the next dey, and released when he posted a 150 bond He was to appear in court last Friday. Hobrock of rural route one. Bandit Found Slain i In Gangland Style Victim Identified As Slayer Os Guard Chicago. July 35 — (I'Pi — A hoodlum taken for a gang style ride and killed by gunmen posing as police officers was Identified today as one of two bandits who slew two bank guards in a stickup on June 25. Stanley Jakalski. 30, was found , slain on a swamp-bordered road i near the Indiana state line-yes-terday. three hours after two mon appeared at his home and identified themselves as policemen. Jakalski'a father, Edward. said the men produced pistols and said I they were from • downtown head- j quarters'* hut didn't show badges. ’ They awakened Jakalski and told ' him to dross and accompany them. The victim apparently did not recognize the men and did not suspect the ruse. He dressed and went with them without resistance. Woman, Son Admit Robbing Cab Driver Chicago, July 25—(UPl — A mother and her 17 y ear-old son confessed today that they teamed up to rob and beat a cab driver because both were out of work and "we needed money.” Mrs. Regina Malcxak. 42. told po lice chief Thomas Kearning of suburban Oak Park that she watched while her son. Peroine, clubbed taxi driver Edward J. Mahoney five times with a pistol butt. Mahoney said he pretended unconsciousness until the couple left. Then he yelled for help.
