Wasting Money On Bonus Applications Veterans are wasting thousands of dollars sending their bonus applications in by registered mail, i Orville P. Bray, administrative of-' fleer of the World War 11 bonus, commented today. At the same Hine, they are cans-' ing the mail receiving department of the bonus division to spend several valuable hours each day to personally sign for each piece of legistered mall. Bray pointed out I that bonus mail is tunneled through | special channels in the post office and stands little chance of being Ist. Registered mail goes through other channels and is In greater danger of not reaching Its destination, he warned. Many veterans are also failing to place enough postage in the envelopes, Bray announced. The average application takes six cents. Bray suggests that veterans have their envelopes weighed at the post office to determine the proper amount of postage, since supporting do< uments may require more postage.
