W.S.W.S. OF UNION CHAPEL IN MEETING * The W.S.W.S. of I nion Chapel met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Freeman Schnepp for its regular monthly meeting. Mrs laiwrence Norris was program leader, using as her topic "Christian Social Relations.'* Mrs. Earl Chase played the accordian prelude, after which the group sang *'My Faith I-ooks Vp to Thee," and Mrs. Charles Burrell offered prayer. The leader then led the group In discussion of the five areas that make up Christian social relations, with Mrs. Schnepp. Mrs. Burrell. Mrs. Chase and Mrs Robert Worklnger taking part. Mrs Omer Merriman reported on the book "Sense and Nonsense about Races.” Following the business meeting, conducted hy Mrs. Schnepp. lovely refreshments were served. The meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Merriman. Waterloo, president of the Citizens State bank and treasurer of the Fort Wayne State school, wax found dead in his room at an Indianapolis hotel Thursday afternoon. He was a brother of Mrs. R. The pledge to the United States flag was led by Henry Sipe, and the 4-H pledge hy Jerry Neadstine. Record hooks were checked by the leader and junior leaders, after which it was voted to have a club tour on Tuesday. Refreshments were later served and seventeen members and one guest. Rural Youth Picnic At Tipton Sunday Adams County Girls In Softball Finals The rural youth fourth district picnic and football tournament will be held at Tipton park, on the south edge of Tipton, Sunday. The Adams county girls' team will play at 2 p.m.. meeting the winner of the Wabash-Jluntington-Miami-Howard counties playoff The Wells county boys' team will play in the finals immediately following the girls' game. Carl Buffenbarger In State Position Carl Buffenbarger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Buffenbarger of this city, has resigned his position with the sports department of the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, effective Aug. 1, to accept an appointment as state supervisor of tiie high school driver training course in Indiana Buffenbarger, former star athlete at Decatur high school and Mamhertr college, touched in Marlon county, at Pleasant Mills and New Haven before joining the Journal-Gazette last summer.
