Legion Scores At Pleasant Mills
2-1 Triumph Over Celina Scoring a 31 victory Wednesdaynight over the Celina, O. nine at Celina, the Itecatitr American Legion baseball team remained undefeated for the season. These same two teams will meet in a return game at Worthman field July 4 at 2 pm The Fort Wayne Colored Giants will play here at 2 pm. Sunday. Floyd Reed, hurling his first game for the Legion, limited Celina to five hits, with none of those blows coming after the fourth Inning Reed also tallied Decatur's first rnn in the third inning Bower was hit by a pitched ball to open the inning and was forced at second by Reed The Legion hurler advanced on an error and scored when Hornberger singled Celina knotted the score in the fourth on a pair of hits, a hit batsman and a fielder's choice. Only two Celina batters reached base in the last five innings, one on a walk and the other on an error. Hob Bolyard tallied the winning run in the sixth. Walking after the first two men had been retired. Bolyard stole second and scored on 11. Schnepf* single. The preliminary meeting to organise a recreation night in Pleasant Mills was conducted in the Pleasant Mills gymnasium last night, with 21/ Interested persons attending. A committee of persons from both St. Mary's and Blue Creek township was appointed. The first community recreation t night in Pleasant Mills will be i held Friday, July 22, in the gym- • nasiuin. Meetings will occur twice before school starts, and monthly 1 thereafter. The recreation commit--1 tee chosen last night will meet July 8 to plan the program for the first community recreation night.
