Monday to attend the funeral of an old friend and neighbor, James Burke, who died suddenly last Friday. Tom Peterson, of Indianapolis, who has heen attending to business at Goshen the past several weeks, visited here over night. Wells county township trustees elected Capt. L. C. Lieubrance county superin’endent on the first ballot, over six other candidates. Lieurance served in the office from 1937 to 1911 when he was called into army service. Wayne Lee has held the office since. ■ (’apt. Lieurance is still in the army, sta'ioned at Fort Worth, Texas. The Rev. J. R. Elston, former pastor of the United Brethren ! church at Geneva, died Sunday night at Andersonville, following a stroke. He was about 70 years old.
