Hail the Power of Jesus Name.” Following a short business meeting, conducted by Mrs. Frauhiger, a delicious luncheon was served by, the hostesses, Mrs. Ferd Litterer, Miss Bertha Maier and Mrs. Joe Rash. The Business and Professional Women will entertain the senior girls at a reception Wednesday evening at seven forty five o'clock at the Masonic hall. Mrs. Eva Bayles, chairman of the event, announced that the time had been changed because of a conflict with I other meetings. Presentation of the' scholarship awards will also be made. All members of the club will assemble at the hall at seven o’clock for initiation and installation services. The Happy Hustlers 4-H club will meet at the Washington township recreation center Saturday after- ' noon at one o’clock. Members are asked to come to the meeting pre- ' pared to practice base ball. George Dutcher was downtown this morning and is recovering ’ from a fall on the sidewalk on North Second street Sunday morn- ' ing, in which he received two hrok- ' en ribs and a badly bruised arm. ' Jim Tony Custer and Jerry Bair spent Wednesday night at their ' camp site west of Decatur. The local campers took their equip1 ment, including a tent and all sup plies, on their bicycles. Flowers Ordered For County Home Porch flower boxes will be planted and a bed of petunias and geraniums will be set out at the county home, south of the city, in advance of Memorial Day, the county commissioners decided yesterday. The Lutes Flower shop was given an order to plant two large concrete flower boxes on the home’s front porch with appropriate seasonal flowers. A bed of cana bulbs also will be set out and flower beds in front of the building between the driveways will be planted. The commissioners also decided not to insure 120 acres of crops on the county farm against possible hail damage. Policies had been submitted to the board. A rust inhibitive paint will be used on the metal cornice around the court house when painters Debolt and Gantz begin work on the painting job next week. List High Average Students At Berne Berne, May 26—Anna Schwartz and William Barrett, juniors, and Delora Graber, a senior, made the highest averages in the BerneFrench high school during the sec- I ond semester of the school year, just closed, a report by Supt. E. MJ ’ Webb reveals. Their average was i the same, 96. Mr. Webb also announced that 26 junior high and high school students were never absent during the entire school : year.
