From Pqge One) Bohm, short, slender and extremely youthful looking, told reporters that the committee treated him ‘courteously.’’ He was accompanied by his counsel, Clifford Durr, a former member of the federal communications commission. Order Explanation Washington, May 25 — (UP) — The atomic energy commission was ordered today to explain in public how it happened to lose an ounce of the kind of uranium of which bombs are made. The explanation will be forthcoming tomorrow at a public session of the house-senate atomic energy committee. Chairman Brien McMahon, D„ Conn., said his committee decided to give the atomic commissioners an opportunity "to explain their side of the case” out in the open. Heretofore the urartfum loss has been explored in detail only at hearings from which the public was excluded. Loss of the uranium was discovered Feb. 8 at the Argonne national laboratory near Chicago. Since then, according to the commission, all but less than a quarter of an ounce has been recovered from laboratory residues. FORRESTAL'S (Cont. From Page One) Ing two 19-round artillery salutes. The Rt. Rev. Wallace E. Conkling, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago and close personal friend of the Forrestal family, officiated at both the amphitheater rites and at the burial service afterward. The fading notes of taps at the grave ended the services for the j tough-minded Irishman who drove ! himself unceasingly throughout his ; nine years in government as adI ministrative assistant to the late President Roosevelt, as undersecretary and secretary of navy, and finhlly as defense secretary. Besides the military escort, only J the family and a few close per- ' sonal friends witnessed the gravei side services which followed the amphitheater ceremonies Following the reading of the Episcopal burial service by the clergyman at the graveside, the artillery battery fired another 19round salute and the casket was lowered into the ground. And eight-man rifle squad of marines fired three volleys. A marine bugler at the head of the grave played taps, and another in the distance answered with “echo” taps. Forrestal’s grave is not far from those ot two former army chiefs of staff—Gens. Tasker H.
