Other highlights of the week will be tours to the Luxembourg Gardens, Eiffel Tower, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Arch de Trioraphe, and the houses where Balzac, Victor Hugo and Chopin lived and died. CIVIC .DEPARTMENT MEETING IS HELD The Civic department of the Decatur Woman’s club met at the home of Mrs. Paul Hansel Monday evening for its regular monthly meeting. The president, Mrs. Ray S ingely, conducted the brief business meeting, at which time plans were announced for the closing meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Earl Fuhrman in June. The election of officers will take place. Mrs. Delton Passwater gave an informative talk on the work of the club in past years and suggested plans for future meetings. MAGLEY MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PARTY HELD The Women’s guild of the Salem Evangelical and Reformed church of Magley held its annual motherdaughter fellowship in the church basement recently. At six thirty o’clock, a delicious pot-luck supper was enjoyed at beautifully decorated tables carried out in the “Lavender and Old Lace” theme. The following program was presented: piano solo, Mrs. Milton Scherry; welcome, Carol Ann Egly; response, Mrs. Walter Kruetzman; poem, “Mother Knows Best," Carla Snyder; prayer song, Dorene Beery; poem, “Old Mothers,” Mrs. Harry Beavers; “Adventures of Our Early Pioneers," Mrs. John Borne; “Adventures in Modern Living," H. A. Meussling; "At the Doctor’s Office," Mrs. Milton Kruetzman. The program closed with a song fest. city. Ed Rose, 57, well known Bluffton man, was painfully injured when his car was struck by another automobile driven by Johnny Kyle, also of that city. Rose received several broken ribs and a number of cuts, and is a patient at the Clinic hospital. The Rev. and Mrs. O. A. Eddy have returned from Bradenton, Fla., where they spent the past seven months. Bradenton is said to have the largest trailer camp in the world, Rev. Eddy stated. Rev. Eddy is a former past of the Nuttman Avenue United Brethren church. Bill Mansfield and Jack Garner were among the Decatur people who attended the circus at Fort Wayne Wednesday night. Several Decatur fishermen have reported good catches of croppies at the Grand Reservoir at Celina, 0., recently.
