CHINESE TAKE (Cont. From Page One) ■ Kiangsi railway, asserting that more than 130 miles of line now was In Communist hands. The broadcast said these units were driving both east and west along the line and soon will join forces with a Communist column striking southwest along the line from Hangchow. The juncture would give the Communists control over nearly 400 miles of the rail line between Hanchow and Nanchang, capital of Kaiangsi province. At last reports the Communists were about 50 miles east of Nanchang. Reports from Canton meanwhile said that acting president Li Tsung-Jen, who has been in seclusion for two weeks at his home town of Kewilin, had arrived in Canton to view the situation. It was not known whether Li’s arrival indicated he intended to try to whip the disorganized Nationalist government into some sort of shape.
