Hanna Nuttman Tuesday Decatur Garden club, Mrs. Amos i j Yoder, 2 p.m. was presented by the home economics department under the direction of Mrs. Howard Haugk. The home nursing class presented a skit on the prevention of home accidents and the boys home economics class presented a skit comparing the manners of two types of young men. The clothing class also gave a style review. After the program, election of the officers for 1949-50 was held. Lester Adler was elected j president; Ezra Kaehr, vice-presi-I dent; Lucile Beavers, secretaryi treasurer. I Following the election, the retirj ing president, Mrs. Walter Egley, I gave recognition to all those who I assisted her during the year. The Women of the Moose ritual I practice, scheduled for Thursday.! has been cancelled. The Decatur Garden club will meet at the home of Mrs. Amos ' Yoder Tuesday afternoon at two I o'clock. Assisting hostesses will be | Mrs. Hubert Zerkle and Mrs. Amos Ketchum. A good attendance is desired. Aeolian choir rehearsal has been cancelled for this week because of church services. Gamma Nu sorority will have a social meeting at the home of Mrs. Reinold Sauer Monday evening at seven o’clock. The Dramatic department of the Decatur Woman's club will have a pot-luck dinner Monday evening at six thirty o’clock at the Shelter house at Hahna Nuttman park. Open house will be held from 2 to 5 o’clock that afternoon and 7 to 9 o’clock in the evening. On Friday evening, a family dinner will be enjoyed at the Ellis V. Converse home northwest of Monroe. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer were wed in Vera Cruz on April la, 1899, and have lived near Berne since that time. They Sre the parents of Mrs. •Harvey E. Preston, Flora, Ill.; Mrs. John B. Holthouse, Decatur; Robert H. Meyer, Inglewood, Calif.; Mrs. Amelia Parish, Fort Wayne; Mrs. E lis V. Converse, Decatur, route 4; Paul H. Meyer, Berne, route 2. and Mrs. Fred Dellinger, of this city. Two sons are deceased. They also have 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Robert Boknecht, student at Valparaiso University, is visiting here for a day with relatives. He will leave Friday to spend 'Easter Sunday with friends in Milwaukee, Wis. Ruthie Holthouse, student at New Rochelle College for Women, will arrive home Thursday morning from New York to spend her Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Holthouse. C. M. Zimmerman of route 2, Decatur, was able to be downtown Tuesday, following a serious Illness of several months. Clarence E. Smith has been dismissed from the U. S. Marine hospital at Chicago, to his home in this city. New Sorority At DePauw L|fiiversity Greencastle, Ind., April 13 — Authorization has been granted Delta Gamma, national social sorority, to establish a new chapter on the DePauw University campus, president Clyde E. Wildman announced today. DePauw’s chapter will be the i 75th chapter in the national Delta i Gamma organization, which was founded in Oxford, Miss., in 1873.
