THREE WESTERN (Cont. From Page One) how to boost German production without causing her “remilitarization." The agreement was reached among the United States, Britain and France. The revision of the reparations plant list, the state department said, was made at the suggestion of the U. S. government." It followed recommendations resulting from a study of 381 German plants by a committee headed by George M. Humphrey of Cleveland, 0. The boost will raise western Ger many’s theoretical capacity to 13,300,000 tons a year. However, this will not be the actual production since actual production is limited to 11,100,000 tons. The statement said that in addi-. tion to the 159 plants covered by, the three-power agreement, France' previously had decided to retain equipment in 40 other plants In the French zone of Germany. Stale Alive With Monster Turtles Termed Imposters • By Farmer Harris Indianapolis, April 13 — (UP) — I Indiana seemed to be alive with monster turtles today, but farmer Gale Harris said they were "imposters.” One of the turtles was about to become soup for a banquet at the North Baptist church. Another was on display in a water tank at a grocery store. The third was the famed "monster of Fulks lake,” which adjoins Harris’ farm near Churubusco, Ind. | Harris has laid claim to the Fulks . lake reptile, which according to I rumor weighs a quarter ton. But he has never captured it, 1 and for a time each of the other turtles was thought to be the long sought Fulks lake phantom. The confusion started when Red-, | rick Fisher, 22, and Dale Over- j I street. 20, found a 208-pound turtle i in a roadside ditch near the lake. I Most folks believed it was Harris’ I turtle, and that it had crawled out i of the lake of its own accord, i Overstreet put the reptile on disj play at a grocery store here. He ; said he believed there was a 50-50 ! chance it was the Fulks lake tur- ! tie. But Harris said no. "It’s a phoney,” he said. "I’ve ; been told that somebody might j hoax me, and I’ve been guarding my lake night and day. The turtle is still there.” Overstreet said he and Fisher got lost while driving near Harris’ j farm and found the turtle in a j ditch. The third turtle added to the confusion. Eastern Airlines reported that It flew the tutrtle from , Key West, Fla., to Indianapolis, and that it was picked up here hy two men. Amateur turtle sleuths put two and two together and came up with the wrong answer. They believed that the two men were Overstreet and Fisher, and that they "planted" | the turtle near Fulks lake, then “captured" it. But Baptist church spokesmen cleared up the mystery. They said the Key West turtle was legitimate, and would make a tasty entree. V. F. W. Auxiliary Bake j Sale at Hammond Bros., ; Saturday, April 16. 8712 ; I Jr I j J INSUFFICIENT FUNDS?
